Make sure that the detector is the same distance from each surface for each reading. Use the infrared detector to measure the intensity of infrared radiation emitted from each surface, or the temperature of the surface. This is to enable the surfaces to heat up to the temperature of the water. Fill it, almost to the top, with boiling water and replace the lid. Place a Leslie cube on a heat-resistant mat.To investigate how the amount of infrared radiation absorbed or radiated by a surface depends on the nature of that surface. It is filled with hot water to increase its temperature. This is a metal cube with four different types of surface. The method described here uses a Leslie cube. make observations regarding the effects of electromagnetic waves on different substances.use appropriate apparatus to measure and record temperature accurately. There are different ways to investigate the amount of infrared radiation absorbed or radiated by a surface. Then again, if, like me, you're itching to get started, (or are more experienced) you can just watch the ones you need as you go to supplement the premium courses.Required practical - how different surfaces affect infrared intensity Investigate how the amount of infrared radiation absorbed or radiated by a surface depends on the nature of that surface

I think the free videos (of which I've only watched a few dozen, but browsed extensively) hold a wealth of valuable information, and would serve as an excellent foundation for the premium course.Īs a total beginner, it is probably best to work through the free ones first.
MATT CORE CTRL PAINT SERIES
The Premium Series is pretty great, although I feel there are occasionally bits of important information missing, and I wish there were more clearly defined homework assignments in Perspective Sketching 2.īut that's just me nitpicking. I've watched part 2 of both of those, but am not completely comfortable with every aspect of them, so I'll be working on them more until I am ready to move on. I'm doing the premium lessons, and have completed Basic Rendering (1) and Perspective Sketching 1. There are some other minor things that you could compare between those renders and what you have (like where the shadow falls on the hemisphere of the sphere) but those are much more minor and not something that struck me immediately. In the bottom example the cone now closely matches what you have but now the cylinder is casting to the side. Notice how the top example has the cast shadow of the cylinder as you drew it (minus the shaded-side issue) but the cone is quite different. The cylinder implies the light is slightly behind the objects, while the cone implies it is to the right. Next is that the cone and the cylinder contradict each other. We should be seeing the shaded or at least partially-shaded side. The first thing is that your cylinder on the right has its shadow going forward (implying that the light is slightly behind it) even though the cylinder is fully lit.
